Hi! My name is Addy Reed. I’m 57 years old and have been neglectful about going to the dentist. Last month was my first dentist visit in six years. I had always been diligent about twice a year cleanings and checkups, but time got away from me until one of my crowns came out. As we age, the dental work from years past tends to do that. When you neglect to visit the dentist on a regular basis, the list of things that need to be done may grow; at least this was my experience. I left the dentist office with an extensive list of things I needed to have done. The office staff was very kind. They are working with me to set up a plan. Solution: A gum tissue graft is recommended if you feel that your gum tissue is not at an adequate amount. Gum tissue grafting is a surgical procedure that takes tissue from other portions of your mouth and attaches it to the areas lacking in gum tissue. Gum tissue can be taken from the roof of your mouth or from around the teeth.

If your dentist is unhappy with the quality or amount of your gum tissue, you can use donor gum tissue for the procedure.

Problem: You are unhappy with the shape, straightness, or shade of a few healthy teeth.

Solution: Veneers are a terrific solution to cover the teeth that are causing you to feel uncomfortable. They are created from porcelain or a plastic composite. The veneers are glued to your existing teeth; once they are adhered, they typically last anywhere from 5 to 10 years. Good candidates for veneers have healthy teeth with a significant amount of high quality enamel.
