Hi! My name is Addy Reed. I’m 57 years old and have been neglectful about going to the dentist. Last month was my first dentist visit in six years. I had always been diligent about twice a year cleanings and checkups, but time got away from me until one of my crowns came out. As we age, the dental work from years past tends to do that. Tooth Preparation And Bonding Process

During this process, a portion of your dental enamel will be removed so that there is enough room to apply the thin veneer shell. If a layer of your enamel is not removed prior to the dental veneer install process, your teeth may look unnaturally thick after the veneer has been applied.

Following the removal of your enamel, tooth impressions will be taken so that the dental laboratory can make your veneers in accordance with the exact specifications of your natural teeth. While you are waiting for your permanent veneers to be made, your dentist can place temporary veneers on your teeth. The temporary veneers will be removed when your permanent veneers are ready to be installed.

The last step in the dental veneer install process is the bonding step. This is where your dentist affixes the veneer to your tooth by using a bonding substance. After the veneer shell has been bonded to your tooth, a special light will be used to that the bonding product bonds to your tooth properly. This is also called the curing process.
